Canes Looking to Take the Series from Virginia Saturday

Our Miami Hurricanes are looking to starter David Gutierrez Saturday to get things going in the right direction. We need at least 6 good innings from David, who is 5-0 with a 4.0 ERA. The heat is sure to be factor today with a 12 noon start time and this should give the Canes a slight advantage over Virginia, but it won't be enough alone. The Canes need to jump on the Cavaliers early and it needs to be right from the start. The first 2-3 innings needs to be be full of offensive power . A home-run here, a double there, and a couple RBI's anywhere will put us in good shape and place the pressure back on Virginia early, hopefully rattling their pitching staff.

The Canes are looking to keep a high spot in the ACC tournament by taking 2 of 3 from top ranked Virginia. Danny Hultzen is pitching for the Cavaliers, he is 7-1 with a 1.98 ERA.

Yasmani Grandal who is one of the best players in all of baseball needs to step up today and show everyone why he is garnering such high remarks. We need Harold Martinez to add to his Home-run total and give us number 18 for the year.

We need Zeke on base early; Pelaez to get hot; and support from Lawson & Ratcliffe if the Canes are gonna get the runs needed to secure a victory.

Come on Canes.......Lets get it done...
