Miami Takes on Georgia Tech this Weekend: Game Updates Here

The Miami hurricanes take on the Georgia Tech yellow jackets this weekend. The Canes have put on a good end of the season run propelling them into the NCAA top ten. The yellow jackets have been very strong this year and have remained in the top 10 almost entire season. Georgia Tech is 40-9 this season and their 18-7 in ACC play. Yasmani Grandal comes into the series with a hot bat; the hottest bat in the Canes lineup. We need our pitchers to remain strong with high strikeout counts if we are going to hold off the Jackets and win the series.

UPDATE: Canes lose opener 14-3

Yasmani Grandal had a home-run and a double for The Hurricanes, but unfortunately there wasn't much else to mention. The Hurricanes got racked with 3 pitchers giving up a combined 14 runs. Santana started for Miami and he pitched 2 2/3 innings. Iden Nazario came in for 3 innings, then Joe Levecchio closed it out. No one was on their game Friday. This will have to change if we are going to Win Saturday and Sunday. Chris Hernandez will take the mound for the Canes Saturday he is (7-2), he will face Mark Pope who is undefeated for the Jackets this year, he is (7-0).

Canes win Second game 9-2

The Hot Bat of Chris Pelaez who went 3-5 with a Hom-erun helped the Canes even up the series. Chris Hernandez pitched and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 6 strikeouts through 6 innings of pitching. Harold Martinez added his 16th home-run of the season.

Canes Lose Final 6-3, Jackets Take The Series

Although Chris Pelaez, Scott Lawson and HaroldMartinez each had great performances the Canes couldn't hold the Yellow Jackets. Miami led 3-0 through 5 innings until Georgia Tech put together a four run 6th inning. From there the Canes just couldn't add any more runs. The Yellow Jackets added 2 more runs to end the game 6-3. Harold Martinez had his 16th homerun of the season for the Canes.
