Here We Go Again....Its Time For The Canes And Noles To Collide On The Diamond

The Miami Hurricanes take on the Florida State Seminoles today at 4pm in the ACC tournament. Fresh off a series just a month ago, the Canes were dealt two heartbreaking losses as the Noles took the series 2-1. All three games were decided by just 1 run. The Canes took the first game 6-5 and the Noles took the last two 8-7 , 7-6 . The Noles won the second game with a double straight up the middle in the bottom of the 9th and they took the third game on a walk-off home-run by Mike Mcgee.

Today's game should prove to be nothing other than spectacular. Both teams are coming in with high motivations to beat their opponent. This tournament has implications on regional & super-regionals draws, not to mention ACC and in-state rivalry bragging rights. The Canes were not great in the last two games they played against Virginia this past weekend. They failed to give proper run support to their pitching staff by leaving men on base. Virginia was a good team but the Canes gave away the series with their lack of hitting and run scoring. We stranded more runners in that series than Oceanic flight 815; we were lost between the base-paths and we didn't have enough Jack.

We cannot strand runners today and we need to turn in at least 6-8 runs to be safe. Yasmani Grandal has just been named ACC player of the year and hopefully he will show off that talent immediately by jumping on FSU today in game 1. Eric Whaley is scheduled to start for the Canes today and FSU is throwing Sean Gilmartin.
