Canes Football: Recruiting - June Has Been Good To The Canes

June has been an exceptional recruiting month for the Miami Hurricanes. We landed Teddy Bridgewater & Eli Rogers from Northwestern and Phillip Dorsett from St. Thomas Aquinas. All of them are class of 2011 standouts. The Canes also have strong verbal commitments from out of state players Marcus Jackson (OL) and Albert Louis-Jean (DB,WR).

Wesley McGriff and Aubrey Hill have led the way recruiting these talents. McGriff has been with the University for 3 years now and is our secondary coach. Aubrey Hill has been with the Canes since 2008 and is our wide receiver coach.

The Canes could defintely use some size on the offensive line and Marcus Jackson could bring that. Jackson is 6' 3" and 290 pounds. He has a verbal commitment to the U so we hope he sticks with it and becomes a Cane, 'cause we would like to have him.

Albert Louis-Jean has played a few different roles in high-school and has excelled as a receiver, defensive back, and return man. As a receiver in the 2009-10 season he caught 14 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging nearly 18 yards per catch. Louis-Jean caught 1 interception for 30 yards, caused 1 safety, and picked up 2 fumble recoveries on defense. He returned the ball 8 times for 200 yards averaging 25 yards per return with one 92 yard return for a touchdown. He also put up 1 rushing touchdown on the season. Albert looks to be a versatile player who could play numerous roles for the Canes, he is also verbally committed.

Here are some stats on the South Florida locals we have verbally committed.
