Yasmani Grandal has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-American First Team. Yasmani had a great year for the Canes batting over .400 and garnering a first round draft pick from the Cincinnati Reds.
Yasmani put up a .401 batting average with 24 doubles, 15 HR's, and 60 RBI's. Yasmani was also named to the Baseball America, Yahoo Sports and Lousiville Slugger All-American First Teams.
Grandals departure to the pro's will definetely be felt on the team as he has been a stellar player for the U. We wish him the best in all he does going forward and we hope he represents the U to the fullest in the big show some day.
