Canes Take On Gators This Weekend In Super-Regionals in Gainesville

The Hurricanes have landed in Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators in the upcoming super-regional series. The series is a best 2 out of 3 between the Canes and the Gators. The Gators have a strong pitching staff who has very good velocity, a few of their starters throw in the 90's regularly.

The Canes have a dominate hitting squad which features Harold Martinez with 21 homeruns and Yasmani Grandal with a .400 batting average. The Canes are solid all the way through their lineup, even the 7-9 hitters are very good. Michael Broad has been playing very well for the Canes so we will look to him to keep up the good play.

Pitching will be very important, starters are still unannounced.. Sam Robinson is coming off a stellar relief performance against Texas A&M in the final regional game. Robinson pitched a season long 5 innings in relief and did very well. He has primarily been used as a 1 inning reliever wit an era under 1.0 for the season in over 35 innings of work.

Game-times are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7pm . Friday will be on ESPN, Saturday and Sunday on ESPN2.

We will breakdown the matchup in more detail in the next post, coming very soon.
